Keawe Kweeg

Half Orc Barbarian / Ancestral Guardian - 27 - 6'6" - 260 lbs - tall with lean muscle, sporting an uncharacteristic top hat with a mix of tribal and sailor clothing/tattoos
I began life on the island of Kokovoko, a small boring place with only two or three other tribes to war against, and game as dull as a ditchwater. In my first stage of life, I tamed this island through the strength and wisdom of my ancestors, ensuring the prosperity of my kin for generations to come. Yes, my victories brought honor to my bloodline, but I had always known there was more out there to conquer.   Then, I saw it one day… what looked like a giant hut floating on the sea. It was a ship, the first of many I had ever seen. The vessel came ashore, and aboard, I saw types of people I had never seen before. These people were different from those living on Kokovoko, more frail in stature, but far mightier in spirit! Their leader, Captain Baha, somehow knew the tongue of my ancestors (which he called “Orcish”), and recognizing my strength, offered for me to join them on their “glorious hunt” for the sea’s mightiest game. At last! The opportunity to hunt new prey, and tame a new wilderness; the sea.   I bunked with a small man name Irayus Wildeye; I believe you call men like him “Halflings”. He was nervous at first as he had never been close to a “half orc” (this is what he called me, I presume this is how the outside world would classify my tribe). I, likewise, viewed him as a fraction of a man, being so small and frail. Oh, how I was mistaken! Irayus had the biggest heart of any person on that ship! We became fast friends.   Over time, Irayus taught me the tongue of the mainlanders, as well as his native tongue, and in return learned mine. He also taught me to sail, to navigate the ocean, and enjoy the delicacies of “society”; exotic wines and cheeses in particular.   Our hunts were bountiful, but our captain was not satisfied. He spoke of a great white whale which he felt it was in our destiny to hunt. Many of our crew believed this whale to be a legend, but I knew better… I had seen the hatred in our captain’s eyes before in my opponents (most often directed at yours truly), and knew that he had a spiritual connection to the beast. I knew that if anyone could bring it’s reign of the seas to an end, it was us!   Oh… oh how I was mistaken…   We had finally tracked the beast after 10 years of sailing together. But, on that fateful day, we tried with all of our hearts to bring the beast down. Our arrogance cost the lives of my crew mates, yet as always, I have somehow survived. I… have never tasted true defeat, and feel my position in this world deeply. I never understood what would make a strong warrior humble until this day. I realize that through my weakness, I have lost everything.   So, friends, please… allow me to join you. My weakness and failure brings great shame upon my ancestors, and I must atone by gaining the strength and wisdom I now lack. I know the value of teamwork and kinship, and that we shall grow stronger together. Perhaps one day, strong enough to end the life of the accursed beast… no… the demon... who took everything from me.   ( ...or perhaps I am a fool, and my late captain’s madness is now my own… I suppose only time will tell...)
