Linz is a rebel 'keeper and a tangential part of Faelan's inner circle. They never speak of their past, and as far as they are concerned, their life began when they joined the rebel cause ten years ago.
Linz is the primary investigative 'keeper for Jetta. They sift through the stake's papers and personal items for information, oftentimes in a rush, before the guard arrives. They learned most of the intricacies of this sub-profession from Dachs, and manage a team of three others.
Linz believes the less they think about their past, the easier it will be to forget. They now have a stable job, friends who care deeply for them, and time to indulge favored pasttimes. They don't want bitter memories to interfere with their new and vastly improved life. Their facade, a cheerful exuberance, hides deep anxiety and caution. They don't trust many, and mentally shut down when ridiculed for their choice of presentation and dress. Accustomed to being misunderstood, they are surprised that the Eaves, the night market, the Lells, and other large Jiy gathering spots treat them like any other customer. They realize stepping beyond the Grey Streets will dent the perception of acceptance, and they doubt anyone they've encountered understands them, but having lived in the shadows in Coriy, Jiy provides a diverse enough environment they are not considered the oddest duck in the flock--a welcome change. They vowed loyalty to Jetta, then to Faelan, and refuse to hear negative assessments concerning their choices, especially about the breaking of the rebellion. Caitria and Jhor's tech knowledge enchants them, and they hound them for information every chance they get. Dachs sees them as his most successful apprentice, and even though he has retired, his pride and support has not changed. When pushed, Linz has a sharp temper and scathing wit, though they feel melancholy after reflecting on their words. They hate Meinrad and Rambart with a passion, seeing the two as the epitome of noble snob so self-possessed, they can't comprehend their own failings.
