2nd Battle of Elftile
The Conflict
Prelude
General Nelthérie Alea Halvea, leader of the 1st Reunification Army, had been pleased with the raid that she had ordered on the 20th of Tvenor and she felt confident in her ability to find and hold a defensive location that barred the Saralians from getting to Spirit Dragon. A few days after the raid they found a hill with a steep cliff in a dense forest.
The general hoped that the archers could use the cliff to stay out of reach from the Saralian light infantry and that the trees would hinder the mounted archers.
A few minutes before 3 PM on the 23rd, the Saralian Expeditionary Army was spotted and the battle began at around 5 PM.
Saralian general, Kulle Ralv, had hoped to liberate Spirit Dragon before the end of the month. He assumed that Count Rick Goldsworth and the rest of his court were still alive, but in chains, waiting to be ransomed or used as a bargaining chip.
Deployment
The Saralians deployed their two infantry companies next to each other and behind them was a company of medics. The elite Metsavärtija mounted archer squadron was away from the infantry. Their objective was to flank the enemy and to pursue routed units.

The Engagement
Then came the Saralian light infantry. They tossed their javelins at the Néltherian archers on the cliff, as well as the heavy infantry who blocked the way to the archers. The Nelthérians clashed into their enemy light infantry and during the fight, they managed to rout a light infantry company, but right as they turned tail, the elite horse archers unleashed a volley that destroyed the Nelthérian light infantry.
General Halvea saw that defeat was at hand and she ordered her army to retreat, but the heavy infantry couldn't outrun their foes and so they decided to stay behind to cover their leaders retreat. Halvea's Ranger fled to a dense part of the forest that was mostly inaccessible on horseback and from there they fled east, toward Spirit Dragon.
