Respite

In the warmth of the Pacific, is a little known volcanic island known as Respite. Surrounded by coral reefs and oceanic life, Respite is a place of natural beauty and little impediment from Homo Sapiens.
Nothing exists on Respite in permanence, except the plant life and a single solar bank nestled along its' docking bay for NEO-N rejuvenation. The one 'permanent' structure was constructed to be given back to the land, composted then rebuilt as needs must.
A hideaway retreat, with tropical forest walks, a meadow to entertain in, springs, a waterfall and mountain climb, meant to carry those in Haven to a tropical paradise for respite and relaxation.

Geography

One (blessedly dormant) volcanic mound in the middle, Respite is surrounded by tropical flora and only non-lethal fauna. All potentially problematic fauna and flora were repatriated to ensure relaxation.
Fruit trees grow on the south side of the island in a cultivated orchard cared for by NEO-N gardeners. Beside the orchard is a companion plant garden, with vertical pillar gardens along the outside of the terrace dwelling on stilts. This terrace dwelling and vertical garden is the only permanent structure on Respite, built using sustainable materials and removable down to the biodegradable pillars in the ground. What difference does it make me, if we rebuild the place every few years, when technology advances and so too might the scope of Respite?
To the North and West, the island continues as it has for centuries, with the addition of some thinning for comfort of human forest bathing and other such activities. Springs of fresh water are left natural, only one bottled for dissemination amongst the people who make Respite their temporary home.
To the East, a meadow and field, where tents can be set up with ease, or where groups of humans can relax, play games and join together in barefoot parties.

Ecosystem

Tropical.
The only modification to Respite's ecosystem from its' beginnings is the removal of all plants and animals which could cause harm to Homo Sapiens. This change was maintained by an island-wide shield and washing ceremony to ensure mosquitoes or such creatures are removed before entry is allowed.

Localized Phenomena

The electromagnetic shield around Respite's coral reefs and bit of ocean buzzes with a faint purple sheen, destroying all contaminants before they can enter the island's swell. 
Those who want to venture to Respite must do so via Haven shuttle, which holds the unique resonance of the shield to become one with it, and pass through.

History

An early investment by Demyan Anastas and myself in the 2090's, Respite was then a tiny spit of land barely a century old. We used it as a fall-back point, the earliest dwelling a single collapsable shack we brought with us on the boat hired from the nearby Polynesian waters. 
Of all the places on Earth I am most fond, Respite is my favourite. 
Thus, over time I learned to share that which I valued most, and opened Respite to any who call Haven home. It became a vacation spot any Havenites can visit with proper time and reward points booked, a place dedicated to those who follow our vision.

Tourism

Only those who remain dedicated to Haven are allowed to enjoy the respite my island provides.
