Rin

What is that thing, an overgrown attack bush? I think it just bit me!
— Sergeant Kimura

Overview
Ohno Suzu's pet, a semi-intelligent Razor Vine.   When Ohno was nine, she found Rin by almost stepping on him in the vast family garden. He was shriveled and dried up--almost dead. Thinking she found a great wreath to hang on her door, she picked up the plant and dumped it in the rain barrel to wash it off. Reviving, the vine sprang out of the rain barrel and hid under the house. It took a few weeks of gentle words and leaving a fresh bowl of rain water out each morning to get the vine to come out.

I really like this. When thinking about pets animals are what comes to our mind. But this plant-like creature sounds so adorable. If he's not defending his master that is.

Thank you! He was fun to write in the story. I'll have to find more uses for him in future books.

Thank you! He's blushing from yours and Rynn19's comments. (Or is that his fall foliage? Hard to tell)
