Shion's son

When I'd waded waist high into the pool above the waterfall, my human guise dropped. Damn, it felt good to be home again. How long had it been? By mortal records, over a century. I was just a baby when father's magic horn played and my siblings and I followed it to the safety of the sea, so very far away.

While I reminiced, I sunk into the blessed cool of the water and shot down over the fords. My scales shimmered in the moonlight that filtered through the river's flow.

Brother would be here soon. We'd share the territory. But for now, the whole river was mine to command. As soon as I glided down the waterfall, I climbed back up to feel the rush of the dive all over again.

I suspect father would call me foolish for such play, since we're river gods, afterall. But if he'd not done the same thing, I'd have to convince him to join me in the fun. What good is being a powerful dragon, if there aren't perks?
