Material Characteristics

Lyniettie cloth is a smooth, shiny cloth made from Lyniettie Bubbles.  It is usually iridescent and at least partially transparent, but it can vary in color depending on the variety of lyniettie used to create it.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Lyniettie cloth is soft, smooth, and flexible, but it can become hard if its wearer created it and wishes to use it as protection.  For this reason, lyniettie cloth is often made by members of Lorelle's Military Force and used as armor.  However, its protective qualities are only usable by the person who created it.  It provides warmth in cold environments, and is refreshingly cool in hot ones.  Unless the cloth is made with Sunset Pearl lyniettie or Purple Filigree lyniettie, it is susceptible to shadowwort, so clothing is usually made with other materials beneath a layer of lyniettie cloth.

Lyniettie cloth is most often used with cotton or other cloth to make clothing.

Origin & Source

Lyniettie cloth is made by merging together tiny lyniettie bubbles into strings and then sheets.  It cannot occur naturally.  Most everyone who can use lyniettie magic can create lyniettie cloth, though it does take practice to master the technique.

Life & Expiration

Lyniettie cloth can deteriorate and lose its qualities over long periods of time, or by exposure to shadowwort.  It can be restored by patching it with smaller, new pieces of lyniettie cloth.
