Eyre

Eyre, the Anvil
  Color: Silver-gray
  Associated Dragonmark: Making
  Associated Plane: Fernia
  Approximate Diameter: 1,200 miles
Approximate Mean Distance from Eberron: 52,000 miles
When Eyre is full, a keen-eyed observer can pick out on its surface a shadowy shape that vaguely resembles an anvil. According to druidic belief, those born under Eyre inherit a solid, practical nature and a gift for nature crafts. Some smiths will wait until Eyre is full to work on especially difficult projects, and House Cannith enclaves often hold celebrations when the Anvil is full in the sky.
The silver-grey color of Eyre is the product of a planet under a level of industrialization and manufacturing that would give even a House Cannith Baron nightmares. Here is the home of the Sul'At Foundries, a colony of fire giants from Xen'Drik. They have continued the legacy of the ancient Sul'At League, who were masters of conjuration, transmutation, and elemental binding. It was they who constructed the spelljammers of the giants, though others piloted the ships and plotted the paths. When their wanderings could go no further, the fire giants gathered and settled on Eyre. Here they created Mechagnomes to do the delicate tasks that they view as beneath them, favoring to do the feats that require great strength and power while the mechagnomes take care of the smaller details.
Here is the birthplace of firearms and gunpowder, which is supplied to the rest of Siberspace, particularly the giff of Vult. Only here are there materials sufficient, and craftsmen strong enough, to craft the famous oversized  cannons of the giff bombards. Githyanki are also reliable customers of the Sul'At Foundries, in order to supply weapons in their fight to contain the mindflayers of Lharvion and supply lairs for their red dragon allies. However, just because the dragons and giants live together doesn't mean there isn't conflict; the dragons had been there first, ages before giants as they searched for signs of the Draconic Prophecy among the moons. An uneasy balance of power between the giants' firepower and numbers and the dragon's individual might keeps a fragile peace which occasionally shatters.
  Hooks:

  • A giff bombard is in dock, preparing to have its cannon installed. A sudden explosion renders the cannon useless, and the giff blame the travelers from Eberron. The evidence present does suggest sabotage from the Aundairian fleet, but for what purpose was the cannon destroyed?
  • There is a secret society of mechagnomes who desire more authority and recognition for their genius and their work. Hearing about the warforged of Eberron, they are anxious to make contact. However, the envoy they've contacted is rumored to be aligned with the Lord of Blades. Should the players warn the mechagnomes of his dangerous reputation, or take advantage of the meeting to learn more about the Lord of Blades' rumored spelljammer battleship?
  • A sudden attack on a giant foundry by githyanki and dragons threatens to unleash war on Eyre. However, the burned husk of an elder brain and enormous intellect devourers suggests that the attack was justified, and that perhaps the reach of the mindflayers of Lharvion is longer than was suspected. Have other communities of the Sul'At Foundries been compromised? How can they be exposed and cleansed without unleashing total destruction between giants and dragons?
