Mythic Explorers are a young profession of highly skilled individuals. They specialize in exploring ancient ruins, and distant places - even heading to other planes of existence all in the name of research.
The first Mythic Explorers have been employed by the Lighthouse Labs after saving the Golden Coast from an invasion of extra planar intruders. What started as a group of just five like-minded individuals, expanded into an operation with dozens of people.
Over the decades following the founding of the Lighthouse Labs, many more organizations dedicated to exploring the secrets of the universe have been founded all over the continent.

Qualifications & Training

Mythical Explorers are highly trained individuals and require a wide variety of skills and abilities. While the specifics vary between organizations, there are quite a few similarities. This is a common job offering you might see:

You've always were curious about the wonders of this world? Always listened to the ancient tales of long lost civilizations and myths about the origins of the universe, and your curiosity still often gets the best of you? Then we have the perfect job for you!
Your responsibilities

You will be joining exploration missions to distant places, ancient ruins and even other planes of existence.

You will gather and collect ancient knowledge and artifacts, revealing more and more secrets of this universe

Requirements

Arcane Affinity: You should have a natural affinity to magic and a basic understanding of spells and magical constructs.

Curiosity: You have to be curious about the secrets of the universe, otherwise why would you even want this job?

Engineering: A basic understanding of magitech, steam-powered and / or clockwork machinery will be beneficial.

Physical & Mental fitness: You should be in good physical and mental condition. This job will be taxing on your body and mind.

Adaptability: You will be exploring distant places and ancient ruins. It's impossible to predict everything you might encounter there. Adaptability and creativity will be essential to react to changing circumstances and unforeseen complications.

While Mythic Explorers have to have a wide range of skills, they often choose to specialize later on. Some of them focus on combat, while others excel in research and tinkering. In any case, every single one of them has to be able to work alone and as part of a group.
