Order of the Burning Peak

This article is depicting a potential future of this world. Some events in here might not have happened yet and will be changed by the actions of the players involved in this world. Until these campaigns have concluded, this article will exist in a superposition between existance and non-existance.   Some version of this article will survive, but who knows what it will be when all of this is over

Look at the mountain above you. It's intimidating, isn't it? It has brought death and destruction to this island, more times that you could count. Over millennia, it destroyed hundreds of settlements and killed thousands of people. But from the ashes we rose - again and again, stronger and wiser. Change can be hard, but it's essential, like food and water. Without change, we don't learn and we don't grow. So embrace the future and the changes it holds, because only the brave will survive.
— The Great Flame
The Order of the Burning Peek is a religious organisation from the Burning Isles. They worship Izral, the God of Change, and see the Volcano on the island as a sign of him reshaping and changing the world over and over again.   Their temple currently sits about halfway up the eastern mountainside, but it has been destroyed and rebuild in various places countless times. The Volcano is still active, so regular earth quakes and eruption often destroy parts of the temple, but the order just rebuilds it.

Followers

While the order originated from the Burning Isles, over the last centuries their influence spread around the Golden Coast. Today, they own various small shrines and temples in all major cities of the coast, but most of their followers still live on the Burning Isles.   Some of the Kemoth do not agree with their religion expanding beyond their home. They see this as part of their culture and heritage, and don't like seeing outsiders take part in it. This has led to regular tension and minor conflicts on the island and even lead to the small temple in Protreni being destroyed in the summer of 856.

Influence

Apart from their guidance of the Kemoth, the order is also responsible for monitoring the mountain and its activities, and warning the people on the islands about upcoming eruptions. They believe that change and destruction are necessary, but that doesn't mean that limitless pain and suffering has to be a part of it.   Outside of the island, the order holds a surprisingly big influence on the politics of the region. Even if they don't have many followers on the mainland, their influence on the Kemoth and the importance of the Burning Isles for the trade of the whole Golden Coast gives them a huge threat during negotiations.

The Golden Coast
The Golden Coast is a narrow strip of land wedged between the Mountains of Roxtoi and the Golden Sea. It ranges from the Arm of Torrus in the north, all the way down to the Ferozabay in the south. It is mostly controlled by the Confederation of the Golden Coast, which consists of the four major cities in the region Okodranous, Prevena, Protreni and Lirca and a couple of island nations.

I guess, if everything around you changes, you need some stubbornness to keep your sanity and if your deity is the literal embodiment of change, you need that more than ever.   Glad you liked the article!
