Long ago, myths were abound of the Brunii luring wanderlust souls off the paths of the Ash Forest with alluring songs & sultry promises before stripping them for their worth & leaving them to their fate. Today, the Vixens of the Ash Forest are known more for their rich companionship & witty conversations than their sticky paws.

The Brunii are often so trusted & beloved as companions that their counterparts can oftentimes forget that the Brunii are more than capable of whispering sweet lies & giving their warmth to their enemies as well. For this purpose, Brunii are also often hired by noble families & factions alike to get in bed with their competition - a task which they are all more capable of performing.

A Song that Serenades

Song & prose is often considered one of the most favored & beautiful forms of communication for the Brunii, and they share it often. Even the least talented of Brunii is often able to put the greatest songsters & songstresses of all other races to shame with a few bars. It is not uncommon that the Brunii learn an accompaniment of other instruments to harmonize with their vocals.

Anatomy

The Brunii appear mostly human, but can shapeshift into the shape of any creature they have laid their hands on and adopt a number of traits of their most recently adopted shape.

The Brunii are an exclusively female race - and rely on finding male counterparts of other races to reproduce. Natural imprinting mechanics are rather strong for Brunii, and they have a deeply rooted need to imprint on a circle or individual, a strong bond they will maintain fiercely.

Brunii can reproduce with any race or species that they can interface with due to the nature of their Shapeshifting - however the offspring will always be of the Brunii species.

Brunii take approximately twenty-seven years from the date of their birth to reach adulthood - this period varies based on a multitude of factors including but not limited to;

During this time, a Brunii will experience their first bout of heat and yearn to find their first circle.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Brunii requires the same nourishment as a Human with the same dietary requirements for their build, activity level & health, so long as they maintain their humanoid shape. Otherwise, a Brunii who has adopted another shape through Shapeshifting requires the same nourishment as that shape might.

Biological Cycle

• During two weeks of a 63-day cycle, a mature Brunii will enter into heat and seek the companionship of a mate.
• Brunii will naturally seek to find a warmer shape during winter, a cooler shape during summer.
• If maintaining a shape with a hibernation cycle, the Brunii will experience languidness & hunger during that cycle.

Brunii are devotedly respectful to their elders, and while there is no official social structure, will almost always show the utmost respect for those who were born before them; regardless of race or creed.

Domestication

Brunii had, at one point in Tawdriian history, been domesticated as chattel in noble households. This has since fallen out of favor as the courts have begun to consider the contradictions this may have with the recognition of the Brunii as a represented race within the courts, and the responsibility of the nobles to uphold Noblesse Oblige.
