Extermination Target Dossier
The ultimate target of my mission and my all-consuming rage. Alistair Douglas, as the creature was called in its human life, should be little better than standard issue spawn. Its master still walks Earth, yet it flouts the conventional rules of that profane Nesuferit contract. How, I do not know, a source of constant vexation. It was introduced to the local hamlet nineteen years prior, brought in as half of a mated pair and tasked with the destruction of a Fae beast, oceanic variety. The partner, Roland Thorne, was a far superior example of the species, and had no compunction with the assigned task. Douglas, however, revels in pathetic attempts to flout Celestial Edict. Small miracles, the task was completed, all thanks to Thorne. Then, not unexpectedly but with more efficacy than anticipated, Douglas successfully broke control. After routing the rest of the nest (while I was otherwise occupied), the creature went crawling to the defacto leader of the local Fae, Brigid O'Gowan, begging for sanctuary, which the strumpet was imbecilic enough to grant. A few years later, it had the nerve to open a Human business, serving Human patrons. Old books and other Human clutter. There it's sat, ever since, vexing me. After the Fae-witch whelped some pups, they began to treat the creature as family member, a protector. Oh, the irony. I wonder what Ava O'Gowan would think of her pretend-father, were someone to inform her of the truth of its nature and arrival here. For years now, I have been content to watch, gather information, and wait for the perfect time to strike. Heaven cares naught, for what is twenty years to the immortal? They even deigned to grant me a boon, and have marked the entirety of Lupine Bay as 'Hallowed', allowing me to work without interference. Three years ago I believed myself on the verge of success, but alas, the ensuing blaze did not destroy the creature, or the Fae whelps. Indeed, it served only to put Douglas on alert. But I have the advantage - the creature refuses to reinforce its own ranks. I will instruct my thralls to multiply until there are no humans left in Lupine Bay to turn.
