Tower of Hades
Tower of Hades is one of the most well-known structures across many realms. It’s a monument to pure power and wealth on the planet Xezzura. The tower is run by a mysterious and powerful magician who holds one of the largest collections of rare and magical artifacts in all the realms. No one is who the magician originally was. No one has seen their face in generations, and if they ever revealed it, a glamor was likely in use.
The Magician uses the amassed power to continue growing the collection within the tower. With such a large hoard of artifacts, the full magical might of the tower protects and empowers Xezzura; this keeps the people supporting the Magician and ignoring anything they do elsewhere. The Tower of Hades is the main headquarters to the Faraday Corporation, with a background in research and development of electromagical technologies.
Despite it being a legal corporation with above-board activities, the Magician runs the company like a mob boss. Corporate espionage is a sinister game in its own world where legal precedent has no jurisdiction. The Magician is judge, jury, and executioner depending on the perceived slights against profit and magical accumulations.
As one who loves theatrics and intimidation tactics, the Magician sends prisoners away in a fashion that inspires fear in enemies, and loyalty in subordinates. Anyone who crosses the Magician is likely to experience one of the most feared weapons in the tower’s collection, the Pyrkagiáthon. When called upon, the Pyrkagiáthon appears as a wave of fire washing over the subject, torturing the nerves to feel like actual fire without risk of death.
The river of fire pulls the subject through reality, as a transportation field, down to the depths of Tartarus; the Magician’s personal prison below the tower in Sublevel twenty-seven. While the Tower of Hades gloats by showing off the power of their single Shield Stone, which they’ve charged with enough energy to shield the entire building, a secret set of Shield Stones continually works to seal off Tartarus. The Pyrkagiáthon is the only way in or out.
