Berry Harvest Festival

Festivals in the Harvest Belt are typically short but merry, as the people of Arsavela are deeply industrious by nature. As this industriousness is often borne more out of necessity than out of simply nature, the people are eager to find celebrations where they can.
In the summers, berry season is bright and joyous, as berries of all kinds begin to ripen in the trees and bushes throughout the farmlands. Families of the Harvest Belt will send out their children together on "berry pick-speditions" from which they will return with baskets upon baskets of delicious berries.
Very few berries within Arsavela have poisonous lookalikes, and those that do will be picked exclusively by adults who know what they are looking for, though this festival is sometimes selected as the perfect opportunity for farmers to teach their elder children these important lessons, though kids may try to put this off for as long as possible due to wanting to go picking with their friends instead of their parents.
During this festival, these kids will decorate their farms with hand-crafted decorations resembling the berries they've picked, and many children will delight in the moments when the local rodents of the woods stand bewildered as they attempt to snack on these decorations, only to find that they are wholly inedible. Laughs are had all around, and some more generous youths might toss a berry or two to the little creatures as an apology.
As the children craft and decorate, the homesteaders take the stores of berries and cook with them, preserve them, and simply snack on them as they go. There is the baker's tax, after all.
This festival is one of many where even the most bitter family feuds are quieted, this time for the sake of the children, who are ever-eager to see the children of other families and rekindle friendships that often become strained as the adults argue and work keeps them busy.
