Leovan

The Leovan estate of Arsavela is located at the southern foot of Aurel, and at the western reaches of the Harvest Belt. Home to one of the Harvest Belt's most influential families, the Leovan estate once occupied two regions of Arsavela: its northern settlement south of Aurel, and a southern settlement within the Melocazh Barrens.
This southern settlement was recently lost to disastrous sandstorms in the south which have cut off communication between the northern lands and many of the settlements once occupying the barrens. As these sands continue to expand northward, the northern Leovan estate has taken up the responsibility of housing its surviving southern Leovan family members, among other surviving refugees fleeing the sands.
Despite being one of the larger homesteads found within the Harvest Belt, the estate finds itself imbalanced and quickly running out of space for harboring additional refugees; petitioning other families to assist in their efforts has turned up only the mildest of successes, many families seeking to have their spaces bought rather than given freely of goodwill. Petitioning the capitol saw even lesser degrees of success, as the Alabaster Hand sought to deny responsibility in the relief effort, as well as deny the threat at hand.
As conditions grow more grim to their south, the Leovan family has begun making efforts to send search parties in the hopes of finding more of their family members who failed to make the journey north. This effort, however, has slowed tremendously as many search parties sent for this mission began returning in smaller and smaller number with time. Parties sent most recently would return in singles or pairs of survivors, in the end causing more loss than was believed to be worth the effort expended.
An air of desperation now sits over the Leovan estate as their once great, influential family now faces ruin in the loss of estate and blood alike.
