Summary of Events
The leaders of Giowenb, Lounleb, Zhenb, and Hiriotb decided to rebel against their Almia rulers. Early in the morning on the 32nd day of the 1255th Last Growth, a force of around 5,000 soldiers attacked the strip of land which marked the border between Minte and Dzezb. Queen Almialib had heard rumors of an attack, so she already had an army of 15,000 on standby. The Almia retaliation was swift and brutal. Almost all of the 5,000 Minte soldiers were killed. Dzezb was originally going to stay loyal to Almialib, but this event turned public opinion against Almialib and led to Dzezb joining the Minte alliance.
Background
The Ferniazib people had been in control of the south-west of Merena for over a thousand years. Over time, six main ethnic slightly different ethnic groups emerged from the Ferniazi: the
Almia,
Dzeza,
Giowena,
Hiriota,
Lounla, and
Zhena. Over time, the
Ferniazib Pantheon developed and became important to every facet of life within its borders and influenced the people's thinking to an extreme degree.
Almienin, the patron of the Almia was believed to be the queen of the gods, and so the Almia people were often treated, even by the other groups, that they were the true rulers of Ferniazib. After the establishment of the second Ferniazib Monarchy, the Almia made sure they would always stay in power by always having an Almia queen. As time passed, the gap of inequalities between the Almia, and often the Dzeza, and the rest continued to widen. This caused a lot of disgruntlement among the people of Minte. Eventually, the leaders of Giowenb, Lounleb, Zhenb, and Hiriotb decided that they would declare independence from the Ferniazib Empire.
Prelude
On the 27th day of the 1255th First Growth,
Kaiyen Wirelen,
Hreonar Rinsen,
Asaran Jarenin, and
Itheniel Othainen met in secret in Wireleb after
Queen Enthisa and
Fiiten Monien departed for a diplomatic mission in
Djeph Urithdo. There, they decided that it was time to secede from Ferniazib and from Almia rule. Their plan was to form the Minte Confederation. Unlike the monarchy Ferniazib currently had, they leaders would rule their regions separately, but the Confederation as a whole together. They decided to announce their independence on the 30th day of the 1255th Last Growth so they could have some time to prepare. The first thing they needed to do was raise an army separate from the imperial troops for if Queen Enthia decided to use force against them. However, they could not be too vocal about their plans, otherwise, someone from Minte would surely overhear.
The next day, the leaders returned home to their respective capital cities to start recruiting. Luckily for them,
Growthfest was beginning in 2 weeks, and that would be the perfect opportunity to spread the word of the rebellion while a lot of the rumors would simply be lost in the festivities. By the end of Growthfest, the leaders had been able to raise about 30,000 troops in total. However, most of them were Zhena and therefore lived too far away to be able to be moved too quickly. Most of them were untrained and unprepared for war. Wirelen, the only leader with any military experience, spent most of the rest of the month training her Zhena troops.
