In the world of Mystwilde, a cataclysmic meteor shower, known as the Celestial Impact, once rained down upon the planet, leaving destruction and chaos in its wake. One major city, now known as Ruinsreach, was nearly obliterated by a massive meteor. However, amidst the devastation, a remarkable phenomenon occurred. Mystical trees, infused with otherworldly energy, began to sprout from the meteorite sites. These trees, known as Eldertrees, and the colossal Etherealith tree, born from the biggest of the meteors, became harbingers of a new age, heralding the emergence of the Touched.

The Touched are individuals born with strange physical characteristics and spiritual abilities, their lives intricately connected to the mystical Eldertrees. However, there is a dark side to their existence. Upon death, the Touched give birth to malevolent beings known as Shadowspawns. Mystwilde is a world struggling to understand and cope with this duality, as civilizations rebuild while grappling with the effects of the cataclysm and the rise of the Touched.
