Those who hail from the various Earthlike worlds within the Nexus will have likely heard the ancient axiom scientia sit potentia or, when translated back into common, Knowledge is Power. The more knowledge you hold, the more advantages you hold. Even in the face of a conventional war, a strong intellect and access to a wealth of knowledge have proven to be far more invaluable in turning the tide than the most potent weapons to ever be made. Many Organizations know this to be accurate, and even ancient scholars on various earths understood this to be a self-evident truth. But while this may be a self-evident truth, only a few groups have taken this knowledge to heart, and only one pursued this Axiom to the fullest extent, guaranteeing and securing a significant tactical advantage for both themselves and their partner groups. So which group is this? Well, that answer is quite simple; they are known as The Collective.
The Collective consists of the brightest minds of all the Nexus. They are responsible for some of the greatest scientific and engineering breakthroughs in existence. Most of the higher-level organizations run on tech designed initially by them in one way or another. They also are the Organization responsible for containing and safely utilizing the primordials.
History:
While the complete origins of the Collective are still shrouded in mystery, with even some of its oldest members not fully knowing the Organization's history, after the events of wɛslaɪ̯ toʊ̯ loʊ̯, some pieces to the Collective's Early History have come to light. It is said that of the 3 groups that make up the Triquetra, the Collective was the earliest to be founded by those from "Management" in the 1st era. Merlin declared that to expedite the development of the Nascent Nexus, a dedicated R&D think tank should be formed to ensure constant advancements in the various fields he felt would help ensure the Nexus would develop on the right track. After the partial success of the Guardian Project resulted in the creation of the Ancient Guardians, Management chose to place the Eldest of the Gen 1 Ancient Guardians as the Chairman of the Collective.
However, despite the fact the Chairman was in charge on paper, he remained more or less a figurehead and pawn with Management keeping executive control until their resignation and disbandment after the events of wɛslaɪ̯ toʊ̯ loʊ̯. This did not prove to be much of a hurdle though as Management rarely directly intervened in a decision to deny projects; in fact, they usually used their power in the exact opposite manner, approving projects that the Chairman had previously rejected. As such, the Collective, under the Chairman's direction, began numerous projects with various aims and objectives over the Eons. After Management completed the first iteration of Project Vessel near the end of the 1st era, the Collective began a search for the brightest minds across all the worlds that had started to flourish within the Nexus. In order to cultivate these brilliant minds, the Chairman authorized the founding of The Institute, a place where all agents of the Collective could continue to advance the fields of both Science and Magic, as well as help foster the minds of the next generation of bright minds.

Notable Projects:
The Collective has been a part of several notable projects since its formation. One of them that is well known is Project Infinity, a now-outlawed Enigmatic project that produced most high-level relics. Another well-known project of theirs would be the
Creationite Energy Core. They also worked on the Guidance Project, a joint effort between the CSA and the now-defunct Celestial Solutions.

Trade
The Collective has always attempted to be entirely Apolitical and a True Neutral party, willing to trade with anyone as long as they don't already trade with the Guild of the Cyclical Serpent. They may limit what the trading partner has access to, though. Obviously, don't want to hand an industrial-age nation a nuclear reactor; that would just cause them to wipe themselves out trying to harness it. Most trade with less-developed civilizations has the Collective pretending it's only slightly above the nation's tech level so as to not show their most high-tech projects off to a corporation or other entity that couldn't comprehend its power. The most potent tech they have is restricted to CSA members only precisely because no other organization has the knowledge required to reproduce it, so it's a trade secret, so to speak.
Organizational Culture
The Collective has always been entirely Apolitical and a True Neutral Faction. They would rather spend time inventing and innovating rather than navigating the bureaucratic Red Tape that most organizations have to deal with. Those working with the Collective say working with them is a "breath of fresh air" compared to other places. "Creativity and Imagination fly freely inside the CSA" Given that perspective, it's no wonder the Collective currently holds the spot of the most advanced Organization in the realms.
Funding
It's entirely unknown where the Collective receives its funding. What is known is that the Collective usually trades using the other entity's native currency. Strangely even though the Collective seems to have a copy of every currency in existence, no one knows where it comes from. Zeta class personnel have posited that it may have something to do with the tiny glowing coins they have large stores of. It could also be something to do with the strange boxes that are constantly arriving at the Collective's Outposts. The boxes have been said to have no Return address, but they are all stamped with a seal of a blue phoenix.
However, these glowing coins only appear to be used when trading with another native group that has not reached the K4 Development status. For those that have reached K4 development status, the primary method of currency used for trading and funding is the
Genesis Coin.
Organization
While those who aren't from Earth or any of its replicas would be unaware of what this is, the Collective uses the Greek alphabet for personnel organization. The lowest level of clearance is under ALPHA clearance which is usually saved for recruits who are entirely unaware that there is anything outside their homeworld; these Alpha clearance members are usually locals hired as sales reps for their trading outposts within their homeworld. Information is compartmentalized, with the highest access and knowledge being OMEGA. The more you innovate and seek knowledge, the higher you can climb, and the more information is provided.
Resources
It is not known where the Collective gets its vast resources. They seem to always have enough resources to make anything they desire. And they sell what they make for very little. Those in the Collective who handle stocking have hinted that every box they collect has a Phoenix seal.
Tech level:
Even before the current era, the Collective was at the highest development level of all known organizations within the Nexus, making them a Type VII on the
TCTACS Scale. After the Chairman gained full control post-resign of Management, he began a series of endeavors under the banner of Project Heroic, intending to bring both the Collective and its partner organizations out of what he called a "Technological Dark Age." However, as these efforts are still ongoing, as of current, the Collective remains the defacto authority on controlling and utilizing the primordial elements, their various technological innovation pushing the boundaries on what one could imagine being possible and blurring the line between what one traditionally considers magic and science into near nonexistence.
