Imridu-Nam (im·rəˈ·d(y)o͞o·nahm)

In an ancient land beyond the age of reason, there was a mighty people. These people were not like you or I, they were almost gods in their magic and science. They worked wondrous miracles every day. Their power was so great they held sway over all the other lands of Niya-Yur. What the keepers of Imidu-Nam wanted they made appear, what they saw as right or wrong they made others see as they did.
So mighty was their power that many gods dwelt in their golden cities. The greatest of all the cities was the center of this powerful nation known only as Imridu-Nam which means unbreakable jewel or glass. You see the massive spiral city of Imridu-Nam was made entirely of glass.
The city held wonders beyond your imagination. Any who walked its wide streets had but to think of a thing they desired for the city to provide it.
The people of Imridu-Nam had no need to toil in the fields or factories as we do today. With all their needs of living met they were free to pursue new knowledge. They were all mighty mages, learned alchemists, and wise physicians. This became their undoing. They began to think of themselves as wise and powerful as the gods themselves.
Believing they could do more than the gods they sought to align all the realms of Niya-Yur and the many worlds beyond into their pattern of life. They set out to conquer the other lands with their power. The great Lady Dalpha learned of their conspiracy and went to Imridu-Nam to learn if it was true.
Learning of the great lady's arrival a powerful group of Imridu-Nam's leaders attacked Lady Dalpha's residence outside of the city. But, in their haste and fear, they used all of Imridu-Nam's powers against Lady Dalpha. They did not understand what they held, or the truth behind its limits.
The great city of Imridu-Nam exploded in a fire that consumed all before it. The fires were uncontainable and unstopable. They roared across the lands of Imridu-Nam destroying everything and everyone in their path. Lady Dalpha seeing the folly of the city cried out to the world and summoned all the gods and mages from the other lands.
All heard her call for help and rushed to Imridu-Nam. They were too late to save the glass city with its gold and crystal spires. In a single day, the entirety of Imridu-Nam vanished in all-consuming fires. The gods cried out and tried to stop the fires before they consumed the entire world.
Many gods were lost in those fires. But, with the great power and leadership of Lady Dalpha and Lady Raven the fires were held in place and they burn on even today.
