The Royal Birush Dhahabi

The Royal Birush Dhahabi is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to anyone in the world. Recipients of the Duianna Imperial Medal of Honor bow to holders of The Royal Birush Dhahabi. The Grand Order of the Birush Dhahabi is the highest order of service in Yalthum. Sultan Shafeeq el-Anwar founded the order in 2987. According to tradition, Shafeeq was dancing with the Nizam of Funeem when the lady slipped straining her ankle. He caught her and then carried her himself to the divans set aside for the royal family. In thanks, Nizam of Funeem gave him her brooch which he fastened onto his coat. Later, noticing the gaze from his wife, the sultana, he returned the brooch to its rightful owner and said, "Honor be to him who honor thinks." As the sultan had been successful in his southern campaign to stop a large band of bandits he decided to institute an order of service in honor of his victories and to reward those who were responsible for that success. The Royal Birush Dhahabi was chosen as that new order's badge. The badge remained virtually unchanged until a thousand years later when the Sultana of Yalthum added a six-point star to the emblem to counter a change by the Duianna Empress in the size and shape of the Duianna Metal of Honor, thus ensuring that the Yalthum Brooch and Star remained larger.   The Royal Birush Dhahabi is a golden brooch with a six-point star as its based and it is similar to the disc-shaped decorations that came the closest in design to modern medals. Both of these types of smaller decorations were often worn with military uniforms, being attached to a harness over the armor. The order can also be worn on the front of civilian coats or vests.
