Mount Yildrovna is a large singular mountain in the Qil'Sora region of Fieldas. It is mythically said to be the birthplace of magic, where the leaders of the ancient races were granted the first spark of arcane, divine and natural magic within their souls.
Description
Mount Yildrovna is a strange occurance within the Material Plane. As a singular mountain it was unusually carved in the creation of the world by the divine creator. The mountain itself is made of a strange stone that has so far remained unbroken by the creatures of the realm, it was in ancient days given the name Brunvier or Steelstone.
History
According to the myths, in the centuries before The Dawning, the ancient races sent a champion to the top of Mount Yildrovna to learn and gather knowledge from the deities. The knowledge was the first sparks of Divine, Nature and Arcane magic. The knowledge flowed from the deities into the minds and souls of the chosen champions until they were able to spread the knowledge to other races and creatures, allowing magic to spread throughout the realm.
In the centuries that followed, many of the races made pilgramages to the base of Mount Yildrovna, eventually forming the city of Yildrov around the base of the mountain. Over the years the city of Yildrov grew and became a diverse city-state for all those who wished to learn magic. At the center of this city was Mount Yildrovna and a temple dedicated to the entire
Shattered Pantheon.
During The Shatter, Mount Yildrovna was the center of several major battles, resulting in much of Yildrov falling to ruin. Mount Yildrovna was also the site upon which Kyndra ascended to godhood. Utilising the flares of Cauldius, a mortal was able to ascend and replace the previous deity of secrets and information.
In the Age of Restoration, Mount Yildrovna has remained a sacred and strangely magical area. Though in the current day borders the mountain stands on the boundaries of the Qil'Soran Republic, it has been stated that as a natural wonder and historical site, it is a territory upon which none can claim. A small monastry has been erected near the ruins of Yildrov for the most religious to Kyndra.
