An Ascendant, also known as the Ascendant of Ader, is a member of the royal Aderian family that wasn't born into it. While it almost exclusively refers to the Sovereign of Ader's spouse, it is also given to the first member of a new bloodline, as was the case with Kairoz II, Andoriani.
