Changing

Changing is an act performed by changelings when they assume, or 'wear' a different persona.

First Changing

Until the age of 4 or 5, changelings look more or less like albino babies. The first time a changeling assumes a persona is involuntary and performed almost as a reflex. The young changeling will most likely assume the likeness of a person he adores, often their parents or guardians. This persona will almost always have a telling flaw, and as such it is unique in appearance for every changeling. Traditionally, changelings use this as their main persona during their youth. In later years, as the persona become much more personal, it is worn only among close family members and most trusted friends.
