Darkness

Darkness is an evocation spell that creates an area impenetrable to normal light. It is commonly used in technomagical and alchemical applications to prevent light from reaching components that would otherwise be damaged or too reactive to work. Darkness is also known to be used for more illicit goals, such as robberies, assassinations and espionage, although some method to alleviate the spell effects sometime diminish from its effectiveness in such fields.

Effect

Magical darkness spreads from a point you choose within range to fill a 15-foot-radius sphere for the duration. The darkness spreads around corners. A creature with darkvision can't see through this darkness, and nonmagical light can't illuminate it.

Side/Secondary Effects

If the chosen point is on an held object or one that isn't being worn or carried, the darkness emanates from the object and be moved along with it. Completely covering the source of the darkness with an opaque object that would block light will blocks the darkness as well.   If any of this spell's area overlaps with an area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower, the spell that created the light is dispelled. This also include any innate, non arcane light.
