The Netheril were ancient, magic particing humans that according to myths arrived to Edora several millennia ago from the west.

The Netheril supposedly possesed a much higher understanding of Magic, and for some reason were able to manipulate the weave to such extent it allowed them to create floating cities, giant constructs and other impressive feats.
The cause of their disappearance or demise is unknown, but constant warfare against the Edo, could have been the main reason.
