Patron

A patron is a demigod that maintains a following and is capable of manifesting noticeable powers to select individuals, yet is not considered to be a god or a subject to one. This lack of strict definition allows patrons greater freedoms and mobility from their counterparts, as they do not have to maintain a duty over an entire concept of force, thus allowed to act without scrutiny or restrictions on their actions. Deities are usually referred to as patrons when in context of occult or nefarious deeds and groups.
