The Vintian Imperium is the first to launch their expedition into The Maw by lowering a dive capable vehicle into an opening under Vintia's harbor. Contact with the vehicle and crew is lost after 16 hours, just as they report finding an opening on the other sinkhole.
The vehicle itself was considered lost until it floated back up more than 5 months later. The canopies where found cracked and the entire crew missing.
