Peacemaker Rank/Title in OmniVerse | World Anvil

Peacemaker

Peacemakers are powerful military units that are picked out by the Deepcore Foundation and the Deepslate PMC and assigned to the various cities that are under the Foundation's purview. They are seen as a powerful one-man army, tough to stop. Each city is assigned one Peacemaker, as having multiple Peacemakers in one location is generally too dangerous. Comparatively, it's body resembles that of Mass Production Surtr Model within a Homid-Type Walker; going as far as to use a stripped down version of the RMO AI within it.

Qualifications

Those who become Peacemakers are generally handpicked by the Deepcore Foundation for the various qualities they exhibit, ranging from being completely loyal to the Foundation; to displaying extreme dedication to their job no matter the moral or ethical costs. Generally, candidates will have to display antisocial behavior; passing various tests that are given to judge their ability for apathy vs empathy. Upon passing, they are then put through a three step process to turn them into effective Peacemakers:
  1. Replacing portions of their bodies with mechanical augmentations, a similar level to that of SYNTH on a much grander scale. By the end of the process, only the brain and spinal cord will remain.
  2. The brain receieves modifications with various sensors and devices being planted into it, all of which allow it complete control over the Peacemaker's new body, as well as allows a selected Deepslate PMC Unit to assume direct control if needed.
  3. The brain is put through a virtual training regimen for an estimated time of 100 days to a year within the virtual world, completely turning them into killing machines with all sorts of battle knowledge; weapons training and such.

Responsibilities

The Peacemaker has one simple goal: Protect the city they are assigned to. They are given an assortment of weaponry and technology to do so, and as such are given carte blanche to do what is needed. They are generally called upon for dangerous tasks such as high-profile criminal activity, terrorist attacks, or invasion of a beast such as a Harbinger Worm. They've been assigned as bodyguards in the past; however, the practice quickly died out after politicans kept dying in tragic circumstances when the Peacemaker would strike back against a target.

'They've been assigned as bodyguards in the past; however, the practice quickly died out after politicans kept dying in tragic circumstances when the Peacemaker would strike back against a target.' Ooops, not the best bodyguards if they accidentally kill their ward by collateral damage.   These guys sound like people I would not want to cross.
