Lunari

The night was once a fearful time for mortals, and not even their dreams were safe. The Nightmare Spider once ruled the night, until the lunari were born. The lunari, also known as the moonfolk, are a race of mystical beings, that were created from the union of humanity and beings from realm of dreams.   Lunari are often seen as wise, spiritual people with great empathy for others. Members of this race are natural empaths that can discern a persons feeling by simply looking at them. They have a strong affinity towards interpreting, and manipulating dreams, as such make for expert seers and fortune tellers.   They are the natural eneimes of the Nightmare Spider, and have made it their mission to protect the hopes and dreams of others. However, they must alwasy be vigilant to never become the very nightmares they face.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Lunari are slender creatures, with a human like appearance and stature. They often have dark blue, purple-ish skin, which seems to shimmer with a starry opalescent look, giving them a magical, almost dream-like appearance. Their hair is often shades of white, black, blue, grey or a combination of all four colorations.    Lunari come with two distinct features: silver eyes and a crescent moon-shaped growths on their foreheads. These growths vary in size that continue to grown until a lunari reaches maturity, and are composed of a smooth blue opalescent that glows a bright blue. Moreover, their body is also covered in distinct simple white patterns that emits various degrees of light depending on a lunari's mood.

Civilization and Culture

All aspects of the lunari culture are directly influenced by the Moon. During the night, bathed in moonlight, they become stronger. They adore the Moon, performing rituals during full moon nights. These rituals do not involve sacrifice, only prayers, thanking, dancing and special meals. Each new cycle of the Moon can be used by a lunari as a new beginning, should they need one. The lunari can become adventurers for many reasons; they can be spreading the word of Nulos, or training to refinine their talents.

Naming Tradition

All of the Lunari names come from very different cultures, and their meanings are always tied to the Moon or one aspect of it. Their surnames are inherited from their human ancestors.
