Bilafir Olgab
Vaja of Ahelaldi
There are still shards of hope, deep in the hearts of our people. It's up to us to keep that hope alive.Bilafir Olgab is the Vaja of the March of Ahelaldi, a legitimist bastion located between the Gaps of Morai in Bratayya. He was born beyond the boundaries of the march in Hlib Lishne, a quiet town within the Rahyamin Empire that now falls under the control of the Ahlaydabil Preservation Committee. Bilafir had made a name for himself during the chaos of the civil war by helping maintain order and assisting refugees and other downtrodden folk in need of charity. As the old empire fractured and new political entities sprang up to fill the power vacuum, Bilafir and many of the people he had helped made their way to Shla ai-Doai, a place where he and his legitimist ideals were still respected.
Shepherd of Shla ai-Doai
Elected to lead as the Vaja of Ahelaldi in the year 280 AU when he was 36 years old, Bilafir Olgab has endured a lot during his reign. Under his leadership, the march kept ahold of its ancient vows, promising to serve the Rahyamins, even after the downfall of their empire. Not only has he safeguarded the lives and ideals of the legitimists within Ahelaldi’s borders, he has even sent forth agents all across Bratayya and the Sunless Paths to guide like-minded people under his protection. This policy of his has earned him the sobriquet Shepherd of Shla ai-Doai.The Second Grain Crisis
One of Vaja Bilafir Olgab's most significant achievements was putting an end to the grain crisis that threated to put an end to his realm. Following the fall of the empire in 281 AU, shipments of food had stopped travelling up north to feed the people of Bratayya and the Sunless Paths. Ahelaldi and its neighbouring areas were most at risk of starvation as they had been utterly reliant on such shipments while the Remnant groups further north could at least get their food from the Aeths or Pijari. Out of desperation, groups of men travelled south to scour the land for whatever food they could find and bring home. Bilafir wanted to condemn such actions, but he understood what drove them to do what they did. To solve the crisis, the vaja send envoys to various Pijari tribes, hoping that one of them would be eager to accept Ahelaldi iron for regular shipments of food. Eventually, in 284 AU, Hadir ai-Pal, one of Bilafir’s councillors, reported that he had arranged several deals. All that remained was to ensure that the merchants would receive ample protection while traversing through the rough and dangerous rocky fields where the Remnant dwelled.
