The world of Pennmir (which means “world” in old Aerdan) contains tree large continents and numerous islands of various sizes. Larger of continents is also called Enador.   Seas of Pennmir are dangerous place. Near the land, where you can see the shore is safe enough, but deep waters are home of monsters. Unpredictable streams, sudden surges and walls of water can swallow ships and leave no trace in minutes.   The only ones to possess the knowledge to cross deep waters were ancient Aerdan shipwrights and sailors. The legends say their ships were protected by powerful Craft, to ward away sea beasts and carry ships on top of the great waves, safely across Misty Sea, Maer Dewó as they called it. Little is known about their history before that, but they were already great builders and built cities on eastern shores of Enador, so they must have learned that skill in their homeland. Only one myth remains, of great forgetting: no Aerdan remembered their old homeland. Some argued gods punished them for some great sin, by taking their memories about the heavenly gardens they left behind.   In ancient times, first Aerdans came to Pennmir from the east. Under the rule of Nuadd the Sailor they crossed the southern edges of Misty Sea and landed in Enador. Legend says there were three groups of Aerdans: first to arrive were the sword bearers, who were mostly concerned with warrior and hunting skills. They were equally skilled with sword, bow, or spear. Taller and more stern than the other, and usually light haired.Their job was to keep the borders, hunt dangerous beasts and keep peace. Second to arrive were the Builders. The Builders were by far the most numerous group. Despite their name they were not only builders, but also farmers and artisans. They were more stocky than other Aerdans, however not as much as men. The last tribe were keepers of knowledge. Dark haired and mostly loved to walk the woods. They were also the least numerous group, and were mostly teachers, bards and healers.   Some Simli sailors tried to sail eastwards along the northern edge of Misty Sea , but unfavourable winds and lack of skill to protect their vessels forced them to turn back.   Old Aerdans inhabited east shores of Enador, and moved mostly along the shores southwards and westward. Towards the south-west lied great mountains. Towards the north from the mountains were dry steppes, getting more colder and eventually turning to endless pine forests high north. Enador was wast. Great herds roamed endless plains, hunted by great and dangerous beasts. Aerdans gradually inhabited most of the eastern part of the continent, and established great kingdoms. On the shores where they landed greatest kingdom flourished, but it’s name was forgotten - we remember it only as the Old Kingdom.   But the most successful kingdom was the one we do remember, the Inperi Dominion, nested between two great mountain ranges, Celenor in the east and Gray mountains towards west, in the rich valley of Riasídh. Towards the south warm waters of sea provided easy access fishing and trade, while on the north it bordered with eastern end of great plains.
