Gleaners are those responsible for scouring the forests of Heralya for dropped feathers from birds. Some are employed as a part of a feather-collecting business, but the vast majority take up the trade on their own or practise it in their spare time. Independent gleaners usually sell their feathers to local merchants or exchange them for goods. It is also common in villages situated either within or nearby to forests and other places with lots of birds for children to be taught to pick up feathers from a young age, leading to situations in which gleaning is not so much a single person's job but tended to by all the individuals in a community. Additionally, many artisans and middle class workers who do not live in cities take it up as a hobby; either for enjoyment or as a way to make a bit of extra coin.

Qualifications
It requires no specific qualifications to become a gleaner, but those with keen eyes and good knowledge of the local forests tend to do better in collecting feathers than those without.
