The Desolation

(This article is a stub, created during one of WorldEmber's competitions for the purpose of acquiring a badge. It would normally be consigned to the great stub graveyard, but is public for the duration of the competition, and will vanish into the dark beyond afterwards! OooOOoooOoOo spooky!)

The Desolation is the name most commonly given to the area of central Sassania which was once kept fertile by the Eastern Cloudbough. After the Cloudbough was felled during the Karvina invasion of Sassania, the region - now bereft of almost all rainfall - began to rapidly dry up over the following years. Within a number of decades, all of the vibrant plant life that had once existed there had perished, and the region had become all but devoid of life; now the closest thing in the Pretheyan mainland to a true desert.
