Realms Update - New Map Creation Guide
Finally, after many months, I have completed and released an update to Project Forge’s Realms!
This update sees a revamp of the “Step 1: Building your World” part of Realms, a new Introduction page, AND a new perspective on Realms and Project Forge.
This is all you need to know about the update. Now for an update on the “Behind the Scenes” side (Behind the Forge?).
Realm Map Creation Guide
Create a map of your Realm/Kingdom with the new Realm Map Creation Guide. This guide is built with Realms in mind and with a whole revamp of the Step 1 section of Realms. The concept of starting in a small area of your world is still in place, but the execution is different. Rather than beginning drawing a map with a small number of Regions, and then expanding on it as you rule your Realm; you are now to create the entire map of your Realm’s Landscape. There is a free version and a premium version of the guide. The premium version contains more features, like Rivers, Lakes, and Mountain Ranges; with more features to come in the future. The Premium version is available to Architects and above.Become an Architect
You can now support the project and gain access to Premium content! To help support Project Forge, you can become an Architect (or higher) on the page. My goal with Project Forge will always be to help you create amazing worlds, and I will try to keep some useful things for free for you to enjoy. For those who do wish to support the Forge, I want to give something back too. This is all you need to know about the update. Now for an update on the “Behind the Scenes” side (Behind the Forge?).
Low Activity
I’m going to be open and honest with you. It has been far too long since the last update. June was the last time I have shown any activity, even though I was heavily developing Realms. This was because I wanted to build the game (and tool) in its entirety and then release it in its full glory. However, this caused me to hide away in a cave as I hammer my fingers onto the keyboard (it's fiery and it shines as I type). Things were great and progress was being made, but then realised I needed to redo a whole section, thus delaying the release further. Mood? Most likely. I am Mood driven, and I admit, I am my own worst enemy. I did not want to release a Forge News article with nothing/little to show either. I still don’t and the guilt would remain if I did. But 2023 came, and I’ve gained new perspectives. I’ve realised I cannot stay in my Forge Cave and take months before I come out. This is why I’m announcing my new method of releasing updates to Realms and potential future tools, the way I should’ve from June, bit-by-bit, feature-by-feature, step-by-step. So expect more from me!What’s Next?
Now with the Map Creation Guide done, I’m setting my sights on further developing Realms. The Step 2 section needs expanding, and Step 1 has a lot more I’d like to add, and that’s not forgetting a look into Step 3. I may post a road map of some kind. Until then, enjoy Realms and please let me know how it goes. Join the and share your feedback on Realms and the Forge. Thanks for reading and if you’ve made it this far then you’re truly awesome. Here’s to a brighter future at the forge!Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
