Iskander
The conjurer to whom you delivered the brain in a box. Despite being a conjurer, he's clearly into transmutation as well, since his atrium is full of "improved" birds. He seems to be in some kind of paranoid rivalry with Kourdara; he thought she had deliberately sent you to take the Tome of Bindings from him so he couldn't use it now that he had the brain and could actually use it, and may have only given it to you so easily to prove her wrong. He claims that Preben, the Tome's author, was weak and cowardly in his dealings with outsiders and that he's going to manage it far better.
