Terras
Lady of Earth
Scroll of the Unseen, Part II
When the world was new and young the earth was a barren wasteland of rock, dirt, and sand beneath the watchful gaze of Ouronous. The earth quaked, trembled and split; spewed forth great molten rock and mountains surged towards the heavens. The world was devoid of life but filled with the wonders and beauty of the earth and all its blessings. From the glittering gems that laid in its depths to the vast mountain ranges that sprawled across it. The Lady of Earth was content in her slumber for a millennia before she opened her eyes and gazed at the sky for the first and only time.
Ouronous in all his splendor brought tears to his terrestrial twin, great floods of crystal blue that flooded the land and gave birth to all the world’s waters, to the great and mighty Oceanus. The great Oceanus was young and fickle, coveting all his mother had and all he could not claim for himself. He crashed and raged and battered at the lady Terras but never would she harm her child and merely let him tire himself on her suffering. The lady of the earth would never again open her eyes to gaze upon the beauty of the sky or look at her raging child who clawed at her.
From her tears were birthed the rivers, the lakes, and the seas and with them came Oceanus fickle and vain. Cursed to battle his mother for all time for even the mightiest wave could not crack her mountains or shatter her resolve.
