Edgardian - Language

The Edgardian language is an official language of Edgard and the most widely spoken in the country. The language has fascinated researchers who have suggested that the language may have ancient versions of Cantari, Brivanne, Fanforom, among others as building blocks.

In the visual novel, Tilde is fluent in Edgardian. Other characters could learn some Edgardian through socialising with Tilde, or doing well in the Languages & Laws class.
You never know how a language can be helpful in the future. While it isn't possible for characters to go visit Edgard due to their magi policies, sleuth students could use their language skills to overhear key conversations or later negotiate with Edgardians.

Phonology

In old forms of Edgardian, ending quotes with words that end in 'a', was fashionable. The Edgardian motto famously follows this pattern.

Kayra, mon haru ta. Xi hen ra, mi shu koru ha. / Today, our sun rises. One heart beats softly, so we can sow.
