Ixchel, The Drowned
Ixchel is an Insectoid near-human witch and one of the seven known Sealords. Little is publically known about her background, but many sailors have heard how Ixchel came to her position of power.
Around 9 ASC, Ixchel was working aboard The Shady Duke. This small merchant vessel by pure bad luck was not only travelling through Sahuagin-infested waters but also got caught in the crossfire of a naval battle between Marines and the Revolutionary Army. Allegedly, the crew members who weren't blown to bits were pulled under and drowned by the awaiting Sahuagin. However, Ixchel unexpectedly survived, though with a hatred for both the Navy and Revolutionaries that fueled her new occult powers.
Whilst she was mostly quiet for a few years, the Archipelago began to take notice of Ixchel in 13 ASC when her coven's newly assembled fleet, The Drowned Armada, began attacking and plundering ships, ports and even bases that were suspected of belonging to either the Marines or Revolutionaries. Contrary to her piratical reputation, Ixchel has been known to avoid civilian casualties where possible, even going as far as to heal and revive people who get caught in the crossfire of her crusade, a rarity for people cursed with magic. These acts have caused Ixchel to be labeled as a White Witch by those lucky enough to those spared or granted mercy.
Around 15 to 17 ASC, The World Government, not wanting to lose their influence in the Archipelago, managed to strike a deal with Ixchel. Whilst they couldn't hand over the marines involved in the sinking of The Shady Duke, they were willing to give Ixchel and her coven access to both their information network and resources to assist in hunting both the Revolutionaries and Sahuagin, provided the marines themselves were made off limits. Even though Ixchel agreed, rumour has it she's made it clear that if she ever came across a marine who was involved in the Shady Duke's sinking, their life would be forfeit.
