Zoé's Journal #1 - Session 6&7

Day 8
It's been almost a day since Cap'n Saoirse gave us the order; Everyone was to split into groups of at least three or four where possible, no one was to be alone until the ghost of Grinning Jack was dealt with. Despite how I feel about undead in general, I kind of regret not learning any tricks or magic to help deal with ghosts and other spirits.
I don't remember who exactly was in each group, though the Cap'n insisted i split my Skelly Boys amongst the groups of my fellow crew members and the passengers with us. A bit of a shock for the latter, even noticed how many of them become weary of me given my talents; though i suppose it was a good thing i gave the Skellies permission to neutralise me should i fall to Grining Jack's possession. On the plus side, the Le Fae siblings, Nina and Jack, would be looking out for me, though i suspect both of them have very different reasons for doing so.
Otherwise, the day was mostly uneventful. I did check on Clyde given he'll likely be tied to the mast til we make port, but given my previous experience with him, i can never be sure what he'll try to do next. Still, I doubt Grinning Jack will likely target someone who clearly isn't going anywhere. Speaking of which, shortly after dinner, I was about to take a nap when the Le Faes and I heard screams from above. We rushed up to find that Grinning Jack had appeared again, and was ready to fight.
Perfurar, Morgan, Alfred and I engaged in battle with Grinning Jack, though much to my surprise, Perfurar, the least magical amongst all of us, delivered an impaling blow to the ghost's chest, causing the latter to disappear. Despite the gentle reprieve, I wasn't convinced Grinning Jack had been dealt with, at least not fully. In my studies of the dead, I know spirits can be harmed by mundane blades, but the cases of them being destroyed by such implements are few. Luckily, I wasn't the only one with this belief, and thus, we all agreed to keep our groups going until we knew Grinning Jack had been destroyed for certain.
  Day 9 - Morning
The crew seemed a little more relaxed but everyone was still tense. I know Nina wanted to console some of the crew members in her own way, but as much as it broke my and Jack's hearts to do this, we had to tell her to ease off til we made land, especially as everyone was on duty til the Cap'n told otherwise.
Nevertheless, we all continued with our shifts aboard the Esclipse. I know Jack's become increasingly annoyed with Perfurar's attempts to teach him, our tide seer, how to pilot and navigate a boat across the high seas. It's good that Jack has extensive patience, though I hope he doesn't give me any diamonds during this voyage.
The rest of the morning went smoothly, though, by the time the afternoon rocked around, we were spotted by a marine ship in the distance. I know what some of my friends think of them, and I hope this doesn't escalate because of their rivalry.
