Zeren Dean of the Academy

Zeren is the Dean of the Polaria Academy of Knowledge. An older gnome and good friends with Poji from the Polarain School of Magic. Zeren fears ignorance and the loss of knowledge more than anything. The thought of the world forgetting its own past and repeating its mistakes terrifies him.
Zeren is a tiny figure with a humpback. He has a pale, wizened face, decorated with razor-sharp, slightly bluish eyebrows, and spectacles perched on the edge of his long nose. His head is covered with thick, white hair and a flowing beard of the same color. He's always seen wearing his well-worn dark blue robes that have faintly glowing runes woven into them.
He has a habit of stroking his beard while deep in thought, and his eyes twinkle with excitement when he comes across something new to learn. He loves correcting people, albeit purely with academic intentions, but often forgets his own name due to age and his mind being filled with too much information.
When he's not buried in his books, Zeren loves to mentor young academics, sharing the wealth of wisdom he's accumulated over centuries. He also enjoys unusual hobbies like stargazing and rune deciphering.
Zeren's entire life has been dedicated to the pursuit and preservation of knowledge. He hails from a family of modest means, but immense curiosity, which positively influenced his passion towards academia. His genius earned him a scholarship to the prestigious Polaria Academy of Knowledge, where he later became the Dean. His deep friendship with Poji, an exponent at the Polarain School of Magic, led Zeren to some of the most exciting magical discoveries. With his faculty, he dreams of discovering the secrets of the universe and ensuring that no piece of knowledge is ever lost.
