Before the Sol, there were the people of Númia. The only peaceful invasion of Avalonian history, that is now not really considered an invasion, despite the fact that at one point, you could say that the Númions were effectively ruling the island, albeit their reign never outshone the conquest of the Sol Empire.
People of Avalonia do not have good historical experiences with whoever washes up on the shore. So when they saw the fleet of Númia on the horizon, everyone started preparing for the worst. Armies were raised, defensive walls were upgraded, experimental weapons and ballistas hoisted up upon their towers.
Númions didn't come here for a fight however, they were explorers who set on the expedition of mapping the entire world and all it has to offer. They were people of knowledge and science and were willing to share that knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. Their biggest trade was information. And so the people of Avalonia learned from them.
Unfortunately, the region of Númia was conquered like many other places by the evergrowing Sol Empire and when they appeared on the horizon of Avalonia, everyone knew they do not have the same intentions as Númians once did. Many of the refugees who settled on the island, including many of the prominent families who has joined the ruling clans over the years, decided to sail away once again and hope to get as far away from Sol as possible. They went to their boats and disappeared forever.
To this day, Avlans do not have any contact with Númions. Only a handful of them remained in the island and those people who can trace their ancestry all the way to them are seen with great respect in their social circles.
Nowadays they are nothing more than a distant memory of the past that is reflected through some paintings and fashion styles and other day to day little things that were inspired by the people who once shared the same meal at the table as Avlans in the past.
Some people speculate, that Númions were descendants of those who renounced the Old Gods, and the conquest of Sol was meant to be their punishment. Therefore, you can come across people in Avalonia who think that the distruction that happened here was cause by them and therefore they are seen in disdain and all memories of them should be erased, so a similar invasion does not happen in the future. These opinions are rare, but they do exist.
