Dragon's Den
Dragon's Den is a game of chance played with two decks of nine cards and two sets of six- and eight-sided dice. Official cards for Dragon's Den are created by the Fidiran Adventurer's Guild, but a number of amateur and regional cards exist. The legality of these cards in play varies, but in many gambling houses, they are forbidden.
History
Approximately four hundred years ago, the Adventurer's Guild aimed to expand its reach. At the time, there were many competing guilds, and it was clear to one scholar-adventurer that the Guild needed not only financial power, but a popular appeal to achieve its aims. When at a tavern, a few noisy gamblers gave to him the idea that evolved into Dragon's Den. Combining cards -- a game of limited chance -- and dice -- a game of random chance -- with a modicum of control that could be purchased could be just the thing the Guild needed.
Thus the first drafts of the game began.

Execution
Each player begins play with nine cards arranged in opposing three by three grids. The card at the grid's centre is the Dragon. Each card has four values from zero to nine; one for each side. These numbers decrease as cards attack each other. Cards may only attack cards adjacent to them. A card may move to any open space as long as they can draw a straight line to it that is unblocked by an opponent's card. The first player to defeat the opposing Dragon is the winner.
Components and tools
Dragon's Den cards are renewed each year in series called Sets. Older cards are not reissued, but remain legal in official play. Older Sets consisted of between ten and forty cards. Modern Sets contain more cards, typically around one hundred. These cards depict various members of the Adventurer's Guild, prominent public figures, recent discoveries and creations, and noteworthy events. With each Set is released an album with space for each card in the Set, along with a description of the card's subject.
