Divine Ascension

Divine ascension is the process by which a mortal is able to ascend to divinity. This process is believed to be a way for mortals to transcend their mortal existence and achieve immortality. It is believed that, a mortal can attain divine status through their actions, choices, or spiritual practices, or through Collective Reverence or the favor of a divine being. Ways to Divinity There is no complete consensus on the exact details of this process, but there are some common elements that are often found in stories of divine ascension across the world. In some traditions, divine ascension is seen as a reward for living a virtuous or exemplary life, and is believed to be granted by a divine being or deity through Divine Judgement. In other traditions, ascension is seen as the result of personal spiritual development and is achieved through the practice of spiritual disciplines or the attainment of enlightenment for example through shaping and developing their soul through the Cycle of Many Lives.

Good or Evil

An individual's actions and choices, regardless of whether they are good or evil, can lead to their ascension to divinity. Individuals who have committed evil deeds or have malevolent intentions can still ascend to divinity. These individuals may be seen as gods of evil or malevolent deities, and their divine status may be based on their power, influence, or control over others. As the theory of Collective Reverence states, being feared by many has similar power to being loved or admired.

Reborn in Starlight

Similar to how it is believed that the first Divines came into being through the stars according to the Constellation Creationism Theorem, it is believed that when a person ascends to divinity, their name is written in the stars, forever etched in the night sky. Opinions are divided between people who believe that a divine astral shepherd of sorts, or the Divines themselves will rearrange the stars for such an individual. This is the belief that upon their ascension, a deity or an ancient divine being will create a constellation in their honor, a celestial tribute to their greatness and divine status as a form of Divine Judgement.   Others believe that it is not the ascension that causes the stars to rearrange, but rearranging the stars is what causes their ascension. They believe that through Collective Reverence they can directly influence the constellations and create a constellation through their shared efforts. That it is not the choice of the Divines who ascends, but the reverence of many mortals, the admiration, love or fear for an individual, that causes them to become a divine being.
