Imperial Charter
Let it be known, throughout all the realms of Urth, that His Imperial Majesty, the Adamant Emperor Maximillian I, absolute ruler of the Eternal Empire of Koth, declares the establishment of the Imperial Guild of Entertainers.
The Guild of Entertainers shall henceforth have dominion over all the arts of performance by word or deed as well as spectacles of beauty and emotion. This domain is all that expresses creative skill and imagination.
The Guild of Entertainers is charged with the performing and preserving the art of the Empire of Koth and its peoples. As such, the Guild preserves and distributes the heraldry of the Empire of Koth, its citizens and dynasties. In addition, the guild and its members are hereby charged with the provision and regulation of games of skill and chance. Such duties shall include the construction and judging the ancient contests known as the Diamond throughout His Resplendent Majesty’s realms.
This duty is the regulation of all art, performance and news. The guild and its members must provide correspondence and information to the His Resplendent Majesty’s nobles, legions and subjects. The guild shall not suffer false news, testimony or information to find the eyes, ears of minds of any citizen of the Eternal Empire. As such, couriers and inquisitives shall be available as is necessary and reasonable for any lands or waters that fall under the aegis of the Koth.
This responsibility is the training of artists, heralds, couriers, performers and inquisitives.
This obligation is the faithful and appropriate performance of plays, concerts, festivals, control of assassins and the elimination of wayward slayers and criminals for the greater glory of The Empire.
This commitment is the entertainment of The Emperor, His lands, His subject, and His interests.
His Imperial Majesty grants the Guild of Entertainers the right and privilege to charge for the service of contest, entertainment, distribution of information and commission of art, and grants couriers, heralds and fools protection under the law while performing their service. By law, only one who bears the station of nobility may pierce this protection. Granted are the rights and privileges to use any means, magical or alchemical, natural or mundane to provide their service, save those granted to other Guilds exclusively. The Guild of Entertainers is empowered to travel beyond the territory of this Guild Hall, recognize Troupes and Stages, and to recognize the skill of entertainers.
His Imperial Majesty gifts the Guild of Entertainers with the establishment of the Order of the Mask within the Imperial Legions. This Order shall serve as the Guild’s sword and shield, enforcing this Charter, and defending the interests of the Guild.
It is the solemn commitment of the Guild of Entertainers to provide services, support and resources deemed necessary to The Emperor and His representatives, to uphold the laws of The Empire and to pay taxes amounting to 30% of the profit from the sale of all goods, offices and services to The Emperor or his representatives.
