Avarice

The God of Desire, Hunger and Envy, The Father of Monsters, The Coward, The Devourer
Avarice has always been simple in his nature, he talks little and consumes anything that is in his path. It has been speculated that like Mortu, he is simply a personification of the rule of Hunger, but this is contrasted by his ability to physically manipulate the world around him and influence hunger in others. Regardless, his hunger is seemingly endless. He harbors the unique ability to produce offspring rapidly and does so often, which may be a reason he is constantly in search of sustenance. During the War of the Gods, Avarice was less 'allied' with the Arbitri as much as he was controlled by them. He was fed, he produced monsters, the Arbitri put them to use. One of the major wounds dealt to reality during the war was dealt by a beast spawned by Avarice. The Great Devourer erupted from the bowels of the Underdark and lay waste to the mortal plane for several years, it was never defeated in combat and the Aegis instead sealed the beast as its power could not be overcome. Avarice was seemingly unbothered by its creation and imprisonment, as he seemingly is with all other things.
The Followers of Avarice
Unlike the other Gods, Avarice's followers hold little respect or love for the God. They have found that by supplying the God with flesh, food and riches, he will reward them, regardless of whether they love him or not. Many families living in desperation have turned to Avarice, offering their final objects of value, their children and even themselves in return for great power. While the worship of Avarice is outlawed, the practice is so widespread that neither the Empire nor the Followers of Aegis have ever managed to completely eradicate the practice.
