Welcome to Creation, the world of the tabletop roleplaying game Exalted. Specfically, this is my version of it, that I use for regular tabletop remote games on startplaying.games. Creation is a funky roleplaying system. How funky? Well, this meme might explain it:
Most player characters are exalts. Exalts are chosen by one of the major deities in the setting, called Incarnae. Chosen to receive celestial-level power.
Creation has many gods. Some of them look up to exalted, being a few levels down on the power levels, but Incarnae are technically gods themselves, and were created by even more powerful beings, called Primordials.
There is a special organisation in Yu-Shan, the city in Heaven, the Convention of Definitive Articles. No one knows their real names. Few of them are even seen outside of 'work', they get called when an Audit would be too slow, when any of the other Conventions might cause undesired side effects. They are twenty individuals. At times, five of them are picked out and sent out. For cataclysmic emergencies, ten may be picked. This is their stories.
