Root of the Artic Creeper


Characteristics The root of the arctic creeper is a hard almost wooden substance dark brown in colour, however if one were to peel it of it's skin, a pale blue green inside can be seen to it. The interior root is significantly softer, and almost damp to the touch. When consumed it's distinct bitter taste has saved people from a cruel fate many a times. "Suspicious Tea" - When used in junction with the Arctic Creeper's leaves, it can be used to make a refreshing tea. The only downside is the poison. "Cold Fire Wood?" - When burning dried Arctic Creeper roots, the smoke and fumes emitting off of the roots are highly toxic.

When dried, the unskinned roots can be effectively stored until petrifaction (5000-10000 years) When skinned the roots can be stored for roughly two weeks before decaying and rotting.

Everyday use

When skinned and boiled in water the inner root will dissolve into what is almost a mild foam, that quickly dissipates. Afterwords you have a highly effective, albeit bitter, poison.

Refinement

In order to be properly used as a poison it must be skinned and used shortly thereafter via boiling.

Hazards

During boiling process there is a mild chance for escaping noxious fumes to inhibit the brewer. The fumes themselves may give the brewer frostbite in exposed areas. Capable of freezing a mans blood from the inside, upon initial consumption effects may not be immediately noticeable, taking 10 to 15 minutes to fully take affect. It´s masking flavor can additionally hide other hazards you may have accidentally ingested.
