Ludwig Embercrown III is a human male, and king of Faryon.
Ludwig Embercrown, the third to bear that name, has ruled for close to forty years now. The kingdom he inherited from his namesake was divided, his father unable to repair the damages done by the civil war waged against his father before him, his greatest accomplishments limited to the quelling of but minor uprisings. Faced with a capital that was steadily declining into nothing but a glorified poorhouse, rife with poverty, disease, and crime, he took a major loan from the Adyrian Republics, investing this into significant improvements of the living conditions therein, earning him significant popularity among the local populace, but at the same time it left a significant amount of distaste in the minds of much of the country's nobility.
In his younger days, Ludwig often traversed the country - both to connect with his people and, more importantly, to keep an eye on the land's nobility that he would visit on his travels, attempting to ensure their loyalty. In recent years, the king has stopped going on such travels, and it is public knowledge that this can be attributed to Ludwig's declining health.

General Physical Condition

Time hasn't been the kindest on Ludwig the Third, the aging king often suffering from backaches. His vision has weakened as of late, and he often falls ill. Due to his declining health, Ludwig often needs to rest, if only for brief amounts of time.

Physical quirks

Ludwig's back has, with his age, grown slightly crooked, and as a result he struggles standing straight nowadays. He is right-handed.

Ludwig III was taught from an early age onward in the various arts of personal combat, warfare, and statecraft by a vast amount of private teachers. His father, Ludwig II, paid for tutors to teach his son the arts of spellcrafting as well, but Ludwig III never quite managed to pick up on this and so his teachings remained within the more mundane aspects of reality.

Family Ties

Three children from his wife, the now deceased queen - two sons and a daughter. All of adult age. Eldest son is married, daughter to be wed off. No more living brothers or sisters.
Rumours of any bastard children are, of course, entirely unfounded and serve only to try and undermine the king's reputation and authority.

Religious Views

Not a particularly devout man, Ludwig III only attends religious sermons when custom requires him to do so. While he bears no particular hatred for the gods, he is not an active worshiper anymore - some among the priesthood would blame this in particular as to why Ludwig III did not manage to unite Faryon proper, like his father before him failed to do as well.
