Baron

A Baron is a person of noble or similar status who owns a section of land but has no noble vassals underneath them. Barons may control several towns, a city, or simply rule over a vast uninhabited area.
Border Barons are barons that rule over usually tense territories. Border baronies are, generally speaking, more austere than other baronies and hold martial traditions.
