Grimhounds protect the Land of the Dead from living trespassers. Or the other way around. They kill without mercy any living soul they see.
Their most common tactic is to create a glamour of themselves as a distraction while they get ready to attack their prey from behind.
Grimhounds hunt in packs, but often send out scouts to test living beings before attacking.
